Course Objective

Introduction of departments in clothing enterprises and relationships of these departments with each other and with the external environment. to provide information about planning, directing and controlling of accepting orders, production and delivery processes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn basic information about production planning and control in clothing companies
2   To have information about establishing lines and line balancing methods.Balancing different production lines .
3   To be able to planning the time, to calculate the flow time based on order time. To have knowledge about time controlling methods.
4   To have information about indicators of performance and monitoring productivity and control
5   Cost analysis

1 Organization structures in Apparel Industry and examples. Giving information about information flow and communication between departments
2 Identification of organization, management, administration concepts and giving information about the tasks.
3 Production planning function, in this context, tasks of business preparation . Forms,papers.
4 Model identification sheet, list of pieces,sheets of forecasted material consumption,examination of material requirements
5 Product tree creation, flow chart, introduction of working plans, analysis operations and the operations machines used in production of a Basic-T-shirt
6 Shirt operations analysis, production scheme, study plans, the machines used in
7 1st midterm exam
8 Definition of line balancing. line balancing methods. T-shirts and shirt production line balancing
9 Analysis of the operation of jeans, machines used and line balancing procedures in a band working with bundles and determining the flow time
10 Introduction of four main control area in production and operation management. Time control. Determination of order and flow time. Time control methods
11 2nd midterm exam
12 Explanation of performance indicators. Calculating productivity. Monitoring, and calculation of individual and band performance.
13 General information about cost analysis. Introducing the types of unit cost such as prosesbased costing and order based costing description of the cost.
