Course Objective

An overall introduction and detailed information about accesories and auxillary materials that used in clothing production; determining proper accesory and auxillary material selection procedures; giving order details about materials; proper/accurate application processes and techniques.

1   Ability to define and understand the clothing auxillary materials and accessories.
2   Ability to understand the technical details of lining application procedures.
3   Ability to explain the technical details of embroidery application tecniques.
4   Ability to explain the technical details of trimming and related auxillary materials.
5   Ability to explain the technical details of joining and related auxillary materials.
6   Ability to explain the all kinds of labels on a clothing product

1 General introduction and orientation Course content, aims, evaluation criterias are introduced
2 Determination of various clothing accesories and auxillary materials on the product. Analysis and practices on sample products
3 The importance of clothing accesories and auxillary materials in terms of the values that added to the product
4 Main fabrics that used as lining. Lining methods and application techniques
5 The importance of sewing threads in terms of functional requirements and appearances.
6 Embroidery technology embroidery types and application details
7 1st Mid-term exam
8 Narrow width materials (bindings, labels, ribbons, elastic bands, lace and all types of bands) Main labels, care labels and size labels on clothing products.
9 Button and zipper technologies. Application fields and techniques
10 All types of fasteners i.e. velcro, snap fastener, hooks, rings. Material characteristics and application techniques
11 All types of trimming materials i.e. shoulder padding, beads, laces, sequins, guipure, quilting materials. Material characteristics and application techniques
12 All types of shipping materials i.e. Clothes hanger, package, carrier bag etc. The importance of pressing processes about general apperances of clothing products.
13 All types of accesories and auxillary materials that used in leather garment industry
