Course Objective

The aim of this course is to give information about materials and atom structure and its bonding properties, to explain crystal lattice systems, defects and and diffusion mechanisms, to inform about mechanical properties, elastic and plastic deformations and strength increasing mechanisms, to get the ability interpreting equilibrium diagrams, to acquaint metal production methods and thermal treatments, to explain productions methods and usage areas of ceramics and polymers.

2   To investigate lattice structures of crystals,
3   To have the ability drawing plane and directions for cubic lattices,
4   To explain crystal defects and perform calculations about diffusion mechanisms,
5   To investigate mechanical properties, and strength increasing mechanisms,
6   To understand phase and equilibrium diagrams,
7   To explain heat treatments of iron steel,
8   To have the knowledge about production methods of metals,ceramics and polymers.
