Course Objective

The aim of the lecture: The aim of the lecture is to help the students to develop proper and healthy communication abilities, using theoretical knowledge and techniques regarding communcation abilities. One of the primary targets of this aim is to gain their self awareness in communication.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They can express what should be done in an effective communication
2   They can describe communication types, communication channels and interpersonal communication elements.
3   They can express the importance of listening and also how to use effective listening in their daily life.
4   They can express the importance of body langauage and how to use it in communication.
5   They can perform giving and receiving proper feedback
6   They can comprehend the importance of empathy and can describe how to emphatize with in daily life.
7   They will know the definition of assertiveness, and they will have the knowledge of their own assertiveness level and also the assertive behaviour model. They can express how to defend their rights without violating others rights.
8   They can express the importance of responsibility in life and how it effects the course of life to have responsibility.
9   They can perform effective talking techniques on the phone.
10   They can perform proper abilities to cope with the obstacles that prevent them to do their job; and they can communicate effectively with the other people regarding their differences as a health care staff.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Using powerpoint technique to do the presentation which includes the lecture topics; making discussions with the students about the topics; also using drama technique to present some topics and then practising it using re-enactment technique.
