Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce xenobiotics which is not a natural component of the organism and to investigate its metabolism and biological effects.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to learn transition of xenobiotics to ecosystem
2   To be able to explain dispersion rules and biotransformation of xenobiotics
3   To able to compare biological effects of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons
4   To be able to clarify the metabolic effects of pesticides, metals, chemical and biological agents and natural compounds
5   To able to discuss the biological effects of active and passsive smoking

The students performance will be evaluated by the questions that will be asked in midterm (20%) and final exams (40%) and homework (40%).
