Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable the students to acquire the terms of comparative grammar and contrastive linguistics, to learn the fields of application, to compare Turkish language constructs in relation to the morphology, syntax and temporality with other languages; evaluating the similarities and differences.

1   Ability to comprehend the terms of comparative Grammar and contrastive linguistics.
2   Ability to comprehend the aims, methods and fields of application of comparative Grammar
3   Ability to comprehend the characteristics of Turkish language constructs in relation to western languages.
4   Ability to compare morphology and syntax of Turkish with other languages.
5   Ability to compare the tense system of Turkish with other languages in terms of structure and semantics.
