Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide information about the role and impact of tourism in society and examine the effects of cultural activities and differences on tourism.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to identify socio-cultural, economic, and cultural impacts of tourism.
2   To be able to examine tourist motivations and personality theories to analyze tourist behaviour
3   To be able to identify, discuss and evaluate the impacts of globalization on culture and tourist behaviour.
4   To be able to analyze the relationship between culture and tourism.

Assessment Criteria

1. In the project, wihin the framewok of the given topic, students are expected to present a written text abou 20-40 pages. The project in point should be written with coherent and clear expressions and also should reflect the strategic way of thinking it is important for students to explain each step of the project, to present the project to the class members, to answer the directed questions and the conducted research should carry original values; it is also important for students to be able to express in which way the theoretical knowledge is converted to the practice.
2. Students are expected to identify the underlying problems by querying the presented case studies and to develop solutions towards problems.

1. It is obligatory to attend at least 70% of the classes.
2. Violations of Plagiarism of any kind will result in disciplinary steps being taken.
3. Active participation is expected in group works and class discussions.
