Course Objective

The objective of this course is to evaluate contemporary developements in tourism sector; to examine global compettition, global movements and legal regulations in tourism; and to analyze current trends in tourism demand and tourism supply.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to evaluate opportunities and threats for tourism in Turkey.
2   To be able to analyze global tourism movements and changes in customer expectations.
3   To be able to explain factors affecting tourism demand.
4   To be able to understand current problems encountered in tourism sector and discuss new approaches.
5   To be able to evaluate tourism strategies of Turkey and their impacts on the sector.

Assessment Criteria

1. The present and future development of the tourism sector is estimated during the course.
2. Students prepare project as part of the course and responsible from each step of the prepared project.
3. Students are expected to be able to make comments about case analyses related to the course and tourism sector. It is also aimed for students to bring solutions to the structural problems of tourism sector.

1. It is obligatory to attend at least 70% of the classes.
2. Violations of Plagiarism of any kind will result in disciplinary steps being taken.
3. Students are expected to participate actively to team-works.
