Course Objective

The aim is to study and use various poems, short stories and plays selected from English literature and American literature in English language teaching classes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to discuss the disctinctive characteristics of these literary genres.
2   to improve the thematic analysis of selected literary works and the use of these literary genres in English language teaching.
3   to use the literary texts in ELT
4   to compare and contrast the native and target cultures through the use of the texts
5   to equip students with critical thinking skills
