Course Objective

At the end of this course, the students will be able to make a good observation on market research, establish the target audience, and identify fashion trends, colors, fabrics, accessories, decoration techniques as well as following new textile materials and products, textile machines and technological developments and new methods in the production of clothing.

1   Explore new ways in the global fashion market, follow the clothing, accessories and fabric production developments
2   Identify the fashion trends and the forms of fashion clothing
3   Identify the determinants of fashion trends
4   Explore fashion trends and the market impact of industrial positions from past and present
5   Detect color, texture, material and technological developments and their reflections to the current trends

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Each student prepares a "Trend Report" through the 15 Weeks of the course period. The integrated evaluation is carried out with the Trend Report, homework and exams.

Assessment Criteria

The success of the student will be evaluated by measuring the 5 Learning Outcomes and plus with the Midterm Exams, Final Exams and the Fashion Trend Report.

Course Policies and Rules

70% of course attendance is mandatory. In case of detection of any copy content on the "Trend Report", student work will be excluded from the assessment.
