Course Objective

To gain a knowledge of the scope of neurophysiology, and detailed knowledge in some
areas including sensory-motor systems, autonomic nerves system, pain and movement control.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the structure and function of cells that compose the nervous system.
2   Explain chemical and electrical signaling in the nervous system.
3   Identify the sensory and motor systems and their functions.
4   Gain a knowledge of autonomic nerves system, pain and movement control.
5   Know the effects of aging on the nervous system and neurophysiologic functions.
