Course Objective

It is aimed to inform students about application and effectiveness of manual physiotherapy methods in orthopedic disorders.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   By the end of the module students will be able to define the basic concepts, indications and contraindications of manual physiotherapy methods.
2   By the end of the module students will be able to define principles of manual physiotherapy methods.
3   By the end of the module students will be able to practice upper extremity manual physiotherapy methods.
4   By the end of the module students will be able to practice lower extremity manual physiotherapy methods.
5   By the end of the module students will be able to practice spinal manual physiotherapy methods.

4 Common systems used in manipulation and mobilisation (Kaltenborn, Maitland, Cyriax, Mulligan )
5 Joint play, joint positions, treatment dimension)
6 Application principles of mobilisation
7 Midterm exam
8 Mobilisation techniques of shoulder
9 Mobilisation techniques of elbow, fore arm
10 Mobilisation techniques of wrist- hand
11 Mobilisation techniques of cervical- thoracic area
12 Mobilisation techniques of lumbar and sacral area
13 Mobilisation techniques of hip
14 Mobilisation techniques of knee
15 Mobilisation techniques of ankle- foot
