The department was founded in 1975 under Faculty of Engineering Sciences of Ege University. The department later became a part of Faculty of Engineering and Architecture after Dokuz Eylül University was founded in 1982. In 1992, the departments of Architecture and City Planning separated from this faculty. Then and the Department of Environmental Engineering became a part of Faculty of Engineering. Department provided only formal education program since it was founded in 1975 to 1992, then in years between 1992 and 1997, non-formal education program, which run parallel to its formal education program, was provided. Currently, the education program constitutes only formal education program known as Turkish Program with Compulsory English Preparatory Class. In addition to the undergraduate program, the department also provides graduate level education and offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The educational language of the graduate program is English. |
