Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the changes in central and local administration approach in Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic from the reign of II. Mahmud to the present.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define the basic elements of Ottoman central administrative structure in Tanzimat period
2   To be able to summarize the changes in Ottoman central administrative structure in Tanzimat period
3   To be able to interpret the reflections of Ottoman administrative approach on administrative approach of Turkish Republic
4   To be able to analyze today's administrative institutions and structures of them
5   To be able to explain non- governmental and administrative comprehension in Turkey
