Course Objective

With this course, it is aimed that students comprehend vocational choice process and role and functional of vocational guidance and counseling in vocational choice process.

1   know basic concepts: occupation, job, vocationa guidance and career counseling
2   comprehend the factors influencing vocational choice
3   comprehend the theories of career counseling
4   comprehend the vocational classification system
5   evaluate the vocational guidance and counseling activties in different education settings
6   know vocational guidance to different groups.

4 Psychodiynamic approaches: psychoanalitic approach, Adlerian approach
5 Psychodiynamic approaches: Roe s approach, Myer briggs type theory
6 Developmental approaches: Ginzberg and Super
7 Developmental approaches: Super, Gottfredson
8 Midterm exam
9 Social cognitice approaches: Krumboltz s theory and information process theory
10 Process of career counseling I
