Course Objective

To be able to write one/two part melody dictation in 5/8, 7/8, 9/8, to write one/two part melody dictation with modulation, to hear and write triads progression, to gain competence about reading in F and C clef and gain the skills on sigtreading.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Gains the basic knowledge about music and uses on musical hearing, reading and writing studies.
2   Gains tonal hearing.
3   Writes one/two part melody dictation in 5/8, 7/8, 9/8.
4   Comrehends and writes modulation one/two part melody.
5   Hears and writes triads progression.
6   Reads and writes in F and C clef.
7   Reads the tonal solfege pieces.

1 Writing two part melody in two sharped and flatted major/minor tune, writing one part melody in three sharped and flatted major/minor tune, triads, reading solfege.
2 Reading and writing in C clef.
3 One and two part melody dictation in 5/8, 7/8, 9/8, reading solfege.
4 One and two part melody dictation in 5/8, 7/8, 9/8, reading solfege.
5 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, reading solfege.
6 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege.
7 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege.
8 Midterm exam.
9 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege.
10 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege in F clef.
11 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege in F clef.
12 One and two part melody dictation with modulation, triads progression, reading solfege in F clef.
13 Writing duple, triplet, quadruplet, quintet in one and two part melody, reading solfege.
14 Writing duple, triplet, quadruplet, quintet in one and two part melody, reading solfege.
15 Final exam.
