Course Objective

Gain behaviors to music teacher candidates, to use their own voices healty, correct, beautiful and effective in speech and singing and gain competence in voice training instructor.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns basic information to use natural and healthy his/her own voice.
2   Learns basic information to human voice system and physiology.
3   Gains basic skills in order to provide voice training in the occupation.
4   Gains ability to singing in front of the people through the concerts.
5   Gains basic information about the choice of repertoire according to the types of voice.
6   Gains basic information about the opera and polyphonic vocal literature.
7   Gains basic information about the child and adolescent voice and training.
8   Gets the lifelong learning habit.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Determination of research topics for voice training program towards the teaching profession.
2 Giving basic information about children's voices. Studies on song repertoire to be used in primary schools.
3 Giving basic information needed to provide voice education to the children and adolescents.
4 Application studies of the basic information needed to provide voice education to the children and adolescents.
5 Technical exercises and studies on examination songs.
6 Technical exercises and strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of songs.
7 Technical exercises and strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of songs.
8 Mid-term exams
9 Technical exercises. Giving information on the types of voice and selection of the repertoire.
10 Studies on selected songs from singing literature.
11 Working for a concert songs selected from various periods.
12 Technical exercises and working on the songs to musical singing.
13 Identification of examination-oriented songs and detailed study.
14 Technical exercises, working on examination songs, detection and elimination of deficiencies and strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of songs.
15 Final Exam
