Course Objective

a) Gaining the concepts of drama, explaining development and historical process of drama, concepts, techniques and phases of pedagogic, creative, and psycho-drama and also discussing and gaining the characteristics of drama process and the usage in education- teaching.
b) Gaining the skills for developing drama practice samples in elementary education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to have the knowledge about basic concepts in drama.
2   Being able to comprehend the development and historical process of drama.
3   Being able to explain the similarity and the differences between pedagogic, creative and psycho-drama.
4   Being able to have the knowledge about being drama leadership and dramatist.
5   Being able to comprehend the phases and techniques of drama.
6   Being able to gain the skills for planning and applying drama as a teaching method in elementary education.

1 Introduction and explaining of course syllabus.
2 What is drama Developmental and historical process of drama in Turkey and World.
3 The rules and principles of drama, Leadership and dramatist.
4 Group dynamics, the concepts related to creative and psycho-drama , the similarity and the differences between them.
5 The phases in drama, process, plays and techniques in drama, preparing a drama plan.
6 The theories and theoreticians in drama.
8 Techniques and practices in drama-1 (planned by student and the teacher)
9 Techniques and practices in drama-2 (planned by student and the teacher)
10 Techniques and practices in drama-3 (planned by student and the teacher)
11 The samples of drama practices in elementary education -4 (planned by student groups)
12 The samples of drama practices in elementary education-5 (planned by student groups)
