Course Objective

The course aims at providing Primary School students with a sound mathematical development that complies with their own developmental characteristics and the outcomes defined in the program.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Plan, develop and practise activities using the concepts of fractions and decimal fractions and understand the meaning and uses of the operations done with them.
2   Understand the development of geometric thinking in a child s mind.
3   Be able to plan, get the appropriate materials ready and practise activities to teach two-dimension shapes and three-dimension geometric objects to Primary School students.
4   Understand how a child develops measuring skills in his/her mind and plan, prepare and practise learning-teaching activities that comply with the outcomes of the measuring topics.
5   Be able to develop and practise appropriate activities on data-collecting and organizing that comply with the outcomes of the program.
6   Be able to develop and practise different assessment instruments to evaluate success, students learning pace and the introductory code of conduct in the learning-teaching process.
