Course Objective

To teach the political, cultural and scientific background of Ottoman understanding of tafsir
To have knowledge about the relationship between sharh and tafsir as the fundamental written works of Ottoman period
To teach the prominent schools in tafsir in the foundation period of Ottoman empire: Razi and wahdat al-wujud
To learn the mufassirun and their works in foundation period of Ottoman Empire
