Course Objective

This course aims to raise awareness about different theories of contemporary architecture, philosophy and culture that establish a critical and discursive ground for architecture.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define fundamental knowledge of architectural theory and criticism.
2   Relate philosophical, economic, social, cultural and historical paradigms with the discipline of architecture.
3   Examplify critical frames of mind within the discipline of architecture and the others feeding it.
4   Compare different theories and criticisms.
5   Interpret fundamental theories and criticisms in written and oral form.

2. It is not considered as a valid excuse to be absent in class for late submissions of assignments.
3. Late submissions will be subject to a different evaluation.
4. All kinds of plagiarism will result in a disciplinary action.
