Course Objective |
Timber has been used as a member of structural system and/or building component during centuries. Today, it is also an important building material, especially by the effect of the importance of sustainable construction design. In this context, it is aimed to define the features of buildings that constructed with timber in context of structural system design, construction methods and detail solutions. Also, it is aimed to give the ability of understanding how timber materials affect the building design to the students and also encourage them to interpret on timber construction design. |

The course is taught in a lecture, research assignment, class presentation of a research subject and discussion format. All class members are expected to attend and both the lecture and seminar hours and take part in the discussion sessions. |
