Course Objective

The objective of this course is to explain the importance of productivity principle in management; and to examine productivity measures and the tools used to increase productivity in tourism businesses.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand and analyze the importance of productivity in national and international tourism sector.
2   To be able to analyze the role of productivity in management; and to identify productivity measurement in tourism sub-sectors.
3   To be able to relate psychosocial elements and productivity.
4   To be able to examine and interpret the relationship between social security and productivity in the context of industrial relations.
5   To be able to discuss, analyze and interpret the impact of total quality management on productivity in businesses.

Assessment Criteria

1. It is aimed for students to get prepared to do scientific studies with assignments. Therefore, the attention will be paid to the compliance with the rules of scientific writing assignments and if an applied study is made then the validity and reliability of the used methodology and the data analysis will be regarded.
2. Along with the students' presentation skills, developing the discussion skills of scientific issues is aimed by the class discussions and presentations.
