Course Objective

The objective of this course is to evaluate the relationship between tourism businesses and environment, efforts of environmental protection, tourism investments compatible with environment, and the impact of tourism on environment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to grasp the concepts related to environment and tourism.
2   To be able to evaluate global tourism movements and their interaction with environment.
3   To be able to discuus the contribution of natural environment to tourism demand.
4   To be able to analyze positive and negative effects of tourism sector on environment.
5   To be able to evaluate about the importance of environment on future tourism investments.

Assessment Criteria

1. Students benefit from the existing studies of the scientific literature about environmental management in tourism.
2. Students are responsible from preparing a project intended to tourism and environment relationship.
3. Students are expected to comment about case studies related to the course and sector. They are also expected to offer solutions to the structural problems of tourism sector.
