History

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy Department was approved on 11th of September, 2011 by The Council of Higher Education (39556) under the framework of Heath Sciences Institute of our university and Cardiopulmonary Master of Science Program was open in to education on 2012- 2013 education year. The duration of the program is 2 semester lesson and 2 semestre thesis, totally 4 semestre. Programs education language is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

Bachelor s Degree; having obtained at least 55 from relevant branch of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or from exams equivalence of which are accepted; in case of graduate of Faculty of Medicine having obtained at least 50 from Medical Specialty Exam (TUS); having obtained at least 50 from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or from other foreign language exams equivalence of which are accepted or at least 55 from the exam held by DEU Foreign Languages Institute. Transcript; having obtained at least 65 from the Post Graduate Science Exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.

Profile of the Programme

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy Master Program has started to education on 2012 -2013 education year. The aim of this study is to improve the students theoratical knowledge and practical application qualifications in the are of cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, to follow the scientific developments, to discuss, to prepare scientific research, carrying out the scientific research and improving the ability of presentation. Program has 5 compulsory lessons in autumn semestre and 5 compulsory lessons in spring semestre additionally 15 selective lessons related to the different areas of cardiopulmonary physiotherapy. Besides the student have the preference choosing the lessons from the other deparments.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

According to related academic members choice 1 intermadiate exam, 1 final exam and/or homework in semestre or evaluated by the success on the projects. It is requreid that having 75 point from 100 point for being successful.
