General Description

History

Movement and Training Science Masters Program is started to education in 2011 2012 academic year within the Institute of Health Sciences with the objective of training expert Sport Scientists. Length of the programme is 4 semesters, 2 of them consisting of lectures and 2 of them thesis. Program language is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

Bachelor s Degree; having obtained at least 55 from relevant branch of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or from exams equivalence of which are accepted; in case of graduate of Faculty of Medicine having obtained at least 50 from Medical Specialty Exam (TUS); having obtained at least 50 from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or from other foreign language exams equivalence of which are accepted or at least 55 from the exam held by DEU Foreign Languages Institute. Transcript; having obtained at least 65 from the Post Graduate Science Exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.

Profile of the Programme

The objectives of this programme are to provide knowledge about movement and training sciences, to develop of essential data, ability and attitude of training profession prestige to analyzing vocational problems in the field of movement and training sciences, to utilize of modern technology at sports, to train technical and tactical skills for specific sport branches by usage of appropriate tuition methods in sport sciences

Key Learning Outcomes

1   To have basic knowledge on the field of movement and training science and to expand that knowledge to expert level.
2   To have expert knowledge in a discipline that based on qualifications of movement and training science. To became conscious about related multidisciplinary interactions.
3   To be able to consider problems independently, develop solution methods, solve the problems, analyze the results and apply them by using theoretical and applied knowledge that in the movement and training science.
4   To be able to develop new strategic approaches and produce solutions by taking responsibility when faced with unpredictable situations in training applications.
5   To follow the current developments in sport science and to be able to transfer the information about own studies in written, oral or visual forms to groups from similar or different occupational areas.
6   To be able to analyze, improve and take action when required in sport organizations, the relations with other social groups and the norms directing these relations using a critical approach; to develop strategy, politics and application plans and evaluate results through quality processes
7   To be able to use the methods in movement and training science as practical and to be able to produce field specific solutions.
8   To be able to convey and inspect social, scientific and ethical values in data collecting, commenting and declaration processes.
9   To have information about health problems, injuries and rehabilitation in sport and to be able to do first aid and basic life support skills.
10   To be able to solve the problems that requires expertise in by using the scientific methods.
